NEW VENDOR! The SWAG March 06 2019

Welcome to the future of produce storage. These pouches will help prolong the life of most of your fruits and vegetables. The Swag is made out of three different/unique layers 100% natural, unbleached, unseeded cotton materials. These three layers work together to keep your produce fresh. The inner layer holds moisture, the outer layer protects your fruits and veggies, while the “the very Inner layer, provides a dryer barrier however, also allows your fruit & veggies to draw on the air and water as they individually need, in order to stay Fresher for Longer”. (TheSwagFAQ)

They come in different sizes and with different color stitching on the outside- so you can easily code which SWAG has certain produce in it.

Here are some tips for using The Swag:

Use DRY and do NOT put in the fridge while storing these whole veggies:
Potatoes *PROtip- put an apple in the bag to help prevent sprouting
Yams
Sweet Potatoes
Onions
Garlic
Ginger
Tomatoes
Stone Fruits- Peaches, nectarines, plums

Once these veggies have been chopped then you may add them to a slightly damp SWAG and keep in in your refrigerator.

For Mushrooms- make sure they are clean and dry and then put them into a clean and DRY swag and store them in your fridge.

While storing carrots, beets, or radishes- chop off the leafy green tops, clean them and then store in a damp swag in your fridge- they can last for months in there. Seriously.

Coniferous vegetables, like brussel sprouts, collard greens, broccoli, cauliflower, bok choy and leeks- keep them together and don’t wash them before you store them (wash as needed before you use them). Store them in a slightly damp SWAG in your fridge.

While storing fruit only put UNRIPENED fruit in the swag- if your fruit is ripe, you should eat it or freeze it for smoothies. We recommend not put bananas or easily squished berries in the swag.

And you can even put different fruits and veggies into one SWAG-

"Each individual fruit, veggie or leafy green will breathe and take in water at its own pace – that’s the beauty of The Swag and the layers offer a unique feature that keeps your fresh produce fresher for longer!" (TheSwag FAQ)
